The Olivia’s NYC Roof Terrace Revolutionized with Euro Vista Multi Slide

Welcome to The Olivia, a contemporary oasis in the bustling center of New York City. Located at 315 W 33rd St in Manhattan, this luxury apartment building boasts a state-of-the-art fitness center, convenient work-from-home pods, an expansive club room with a bar/kitchen area, and a stunning roof terrace. ModernfoldStyles, Inc. was fortunate to have worked on this residential rooftop space to help enhance its impressive array of amenities.

In conjunction with Palette Architecture, JRM Construction Management, LLC and Euro-Wall, ModernfoldStyles installed a new Euro Vista Multi Slide opening the 36th floor amenities space to the reimagined rooftop patio. The purpose of the installation was to provide direct access from the interior club room to the exterior roof terrace.

Offering panoramic views of Hudson Yards and the iconic island of Manhattan, the fully landscaped terrace has dining and grilling areas surrounded by lush lavender plants and year-round greenery. The serene space provides a peaceful respite from the fast-moving pace of the city below.

The Euro Vista Multi Slide was selected to ensure the beautiful views of the New York City skyline remained unobstructed. The multi-slide glass doors feature the smallest interlock on the market at less than 1” when the doors are closed, and expansive clear space when open.

With an available max panel height of 14’, this door system stands at an impressive 11 feet 7 inches high, extending from floor to ceiling.

The product was fabricated with 1-1/4” low-e insulated glass. The system was designed to withstand high wind loads and is ideal for all four seasons of the Northeast US. The full perimeter black weather strip significantly reduces air leakage throughout the operable door systems, maintaining the building’s energy efficiency year round.

Color matched to the door panels, the full-embed sill was finished with Kynar 2605 black paint for long lasting durability in the harshest of climates.

The oversized glass panels glide effortlessly along the bottom track with the EZ Glide roller system and can be smoothly operated back and forth with the 1’ black pull bars located on both the interior and exterior of the system.

When open, the standard left panels are stacked to one side. On beautiful summer days, the wall system can be left open, melding the club room and terrace into one seamless area, perfect for hosting parties.

The glass door system has a black multi-point locking levers on the interior to lock the system when not in use.
