The Versatility of ZONA: ​​The Perfect Blend of Design and Function for The SG Companies

A value-based organization grounded in excellence and innovation, the SG Companies’ origins date back to 1896 in New York City. Now a global company across five different locations 125+ years later, the SG Companies is a leading manufacturer that specializes in the design, production, and distribution of footwear, sleepwear, and apparel. ModernfoldStyles was excited to work with such an exceptional partner to help remodel their offices in Rochelle, New Jersey, utilizing cutting-edge space management solutions. The project was a seamless collaboration involving the design expertise of Dahn & Krieger Architects Planner PC and the construction finesse of KV Builders, LLC.

Working closely with the architect and contractor, ModernfoldStyles installed (x15) ZONA 1 Single Glazed office front systems including sliding and swing door systems and (x1) LYNX Telescopic™ Bi-Parting system to meet the SG Companies’ needs. The goal was to create a space that seamlessly balanced privacy and openness while enhancing acoustical integrity and visual appeal.

The ZONA 1 Single Glazed systems were selected for their durability and utility, ensuring they fit with the contemporary and functional design of the SG Companies’ NJ workspace. The sliding panel systems were installed for several offices, huddle collaborative spaces, and phone booths throughout the floor, offering an STC range of 34-38.

LYNX Telescopic™ Bi-Parting system was installed between an open area and the conference area to delineate a clear space for larger meetings. The LYNX Telescopic™ also helps align the horizontal and vertical frames of its fixed panels, creating an aesthetically pleasing effect to help encourage a positive working environment.

All systems utilized ½” clear tempered glass, known for its strength, safety, and ability to flood the space with natural light, which helps boost employee wellness. Also, all three product lines installed maintain the same profile dimensions throughout.

The systems were finished with a sleek white powder coat, adding a clean, modern touch to complement the office’s interior.

Ease of use was paramount in this project, which is why matte black 48” T-Concept non-locking ladder pulls were installed on the ZONA systems.

The sliding systems were placed on Hawa track & carriers to help ensure smooth movement, all in matte black to create a cohesive look. The combination of features exemplifies the ideal blend of form and function.
