A Grand Slam in Design: Renlita’s Impact on Heritage Financial Park
Heritage Financial Park, formerly known as Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill, New York, is a landmark facility home of the Hudson Valley Renegades, a minor league baseball team affiliated with the New York Yankees. Recently purchased by Heritage Financial Credit Union in 2023, the stadium has a seating capacity of almost 4,500. Not only is the stadium a sports venue, but it also serves as an integral part of the Hudson Valley community for various events, including concerts, high school and college graduations, and the annual KFest concert.
As part of the stadium’s community-first culture, ModernfoldStyles contracted Piazza Brothers Inc. to install four Renlita bi-fold doors to help enhance the stadium’s new left-field clubhouse, seating bowl, and restroom building. Working with the DRL Group, Renlita bi-fold doors were chosen for their combination of visible appeal and flexibility.
One of the standout features of these doors is their innovative design. Unlike similar models, the Renlita bi-fold doors do not require counterweights, visible motors, or hydraulic systems. Instead, they rely on a simple control box connected to a standard electrical outlet, making the installation simple and straightforward. This design choice aligns perfectly with the stadium’s modern aesthetic by providing a clean and unobtrusive look.
The doors are operated through a 5” touchscreen wall control with an easy-to-use interface surrounded by a brushed aluminum faceplate. They also have no door handles, further emphasizing their contemporary and minimalist design.
Check out how simple it is to move the bi-folding doors in our video:
The Renlita bi-fold doors at Heritage Financial Park stand at 9’-10” high and are 7’-5” wide, with a sleek satin black standard powder-coated finish that blends seamlessly with its surrounding space.
For this installation, 1” insulated LOW-E glass was selected for the bi-fold doors, which are currently the best option on the market for protecting against thermal and solar energy transfer, thereby reducing energy costs, improving comfort, and increasing durability.
The doors also used ⅛” clear tempered glass on the exterior and interior layers of the units, which provides four times more strength than regular glass and helps reduce the risk of injury if it ever breaks from an outside force. A Cardinal 366 coating was also applied to the second surface of the glass to help enhance the glass’s thermal performance by reflecting heat while allowing natural light to pass through. By effectively blocking solar heat gain, the coating helps maintain a comfortable indoor temperature for the stadium during the warmer months of baseball season.
Another component that helped insulate the airspace was the inclusion of a ¾” spacer between the panes of glass. This spacer prevents condensation from impacting visibility and reduces the transfer of heat and cold through the glass, further contributing to a consistent interior temperature.
From improving energy efficiency and overall functionality to integrating smoothly with the stadium’s existing design, the Renlita bi-fold doors at Heritage Financial Park are a testament to the versatility and quality of our Renlita opening solutions and ensure the stadium will remain a top-notch facility for both sports and community events for many years.
This installation is just one example of ModernfoldStyles’ expertise and dedication to excellence in transforming residential and commercial spaces. Read our case studies to check out our other successful projects, or contact our team to learn more about our various services and products today.
